ABOUT ASHER LAC, PH.D

(They/them)

Helping you be the author of your life.

I graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2022 with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Before that I worked for the university in the Department of Wellness and Health Promotion for 11 years. I helped students with anxiety, substance misuse and abuse issues, those in or seeking long-term recovery from substances, cultivating resilience, and building coping, communication, and assertiveness skills. I also hold a Ph.D. in Community Health Promotion from the University of Arkansas.

I have been helping individuals grow and make positive changes in their lives for over 10 years. I have a passion for helping you own the narrative of your life; past, present, and future. I am a proud queer therapist whose practice is devoted to anti-racism, challenging anti-Semitism, and is anti-diet/fat positive, and pro-choice. I strive to create an environment of compassion and inclusion for marginalized individuals by working to acknowledge my own privilege and to break down systems of oppression that are often a barrier to positive mental health care.

Lambda Counseling, located in Northwest Arkansas, exists on the stolen ancestreal lands of the Caddo, Osage, and Quapaw Nations.
